Jamie Smith

Managing Director

Jamie Smith is a managing director and the chief operating officer of private debt and with Benefit Street Partners.  Prior to rejoining BSP in 2025, Mr. Smith was the Chief Operating Officer of Credit at Platinum Equity. He originally joined the predecessor of BSP in 2009 and was a Portfolio Manager focusing on Collateralized Loan Obligation management while also responsible for structuring and executing CLOs, lines of credit and fund financings. Previously, he worked at HillMark Capital Management, BNP Paribas and WestLB. Mr. Smith received a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College.
